The most notable dance in the Valencian Community is La Danza dels Porrots:

La Danza dels Porrots is a traditional dance from the Valencian Community dating back to the 18th century, originating in Silla. It has very ancient origins, possibly prehistoric or medieval, and is linked to combat rituals, symbolizing strength and collective identity.

The music is simple and energetic, featuring instruments such as the dulzaina and the tabalet, which set a strong rhythm.

The steps are intense and symbolic, with marches, jumps, and movements that mimic combat, as this is a dance that tells a story without words.

The costumes are simple and rustic, inspired by ancient warriors, and footwear is not a significant element.

The main accessory is the porrot, a wooden staff that represents a weapon and reinforces the dance’s warrior-like character.

It is a festive and traditional dance performed at local celebrations and forms part of the region’s cultural identity.
